The Homecoming football game against Limestone was nothing short of electric, thrilling, and magical. The Dunlap Eagles secured a 49-0 win against the Limestone Rockets, leaving their performance to be described in one word: domineering. School spirit practically shook the bleachers. Students waved posters with faces streaked with maroon and gold, their chanting so loud that it could be heard halfway across town. Confetti and streamers shot through the air throughout the game, and the night was unforgettable. The Dunlap Eagles marching band and color guard put on an amazing display during halftime as well. As the final whistle blew, the whistling of fireworks erupted into the skies. The air was filled with cheers and swirling confetti as this magical display of Eagles pride came to a close.

After the excitement of the football game had settled, students traded their jerseys and spirit wear for formal attire as they headed on to the long-awaited Homecoming dance! This year’s theme was Far Away From Home(coming), incorporating intergalactic themes with the DJ spinning us away to outer space with the records, it made this night hard to forget.
The 2025 Homecoming Court was as follows: Knox Belshaw and Bennett Shaw (Freshman HoCo Court), Karthik Bhamidipati and Kyla Terrell (Sophomore HoCo Court), Brady Young and Ella Middleton (Junior HoCo Court), and to close it out, Addi Pepperell, Carson Saul, Isabel Murphy, Ben Hampton, Ellie Gerstner, Owen Burdett, Alyssa Carlson, and Luke Cecil (Senior HoCo Court).

The dance itself was a blast. After walking in and turning in the ticket, a cosmic tunnel with lights and designs appears before your eyes. And that was all before the Commons. In the Commons, there were concessions and photo ops, along with plenty of space to hang out.
But, inside the gym was where the real party started. A bustling atmosphere with blaring music, vibrant lights, and people dancing everywhere. In the end, everyone had a great time.
However, it is essential to recognize the effort made behind the scenes to make this night happen. Dunlap High School Student Council did a tremendous job setting up the event, planning, and organizing the spirit week. Their hard work paid off, creating memories that students will remember down the line.
Homecoming was so much more than a dance. It created memories, brought people together, reminded everyone what it meant to be a Dunlap Eagle, certainly making this night one to remember.
